When George and his wife arrived in the United States from another country, they faced immense struggles. They fled their war-torn country with little money, no jobs, and limited access to food. The couple found it difficult to make ends meet, and with two children to care for, their future seemed uncertain. Desperate for help, they turned to Hill Country Community Ministries (HCCM).
HCCM provided them with food, hygiene supplies, and feminine products, easing their immediate needs. But the organization’s support didn’t stop there. With guidance from HCCM, George and his wife were connected to local job opportunities and other community resources. HCCM helped them become confident and explore job openings that aligned with their skills.
Within a few months, George and his wife both secured full-time jobs. Slowly but surely, their lives began to stabilize. Thanks to the compassionate assistance and resources from HCCM, they no longer needed outside help and were able to stand on their own.
Today, George reflects on the support her family received from Hill Country Community Ministries with immense gratitude. He says, "Without HCCM, I don’t know how we would have survived those first months. They didn’t just give us food—they gave us hope."
