Lucy’s professional background is in accounting, but she has been passionate about social justice with a focus on food security and refugee assimilation for a long time. Lucy graduated from the University of Southern California and spent nearly a decade as an auditor in formerly one of the Big Five accounting firms. Her clients included multinational entertainment and hospitality companies as well as local utilities and non-profits. After leaving public accounting, Lucy spent four years in administration at a faith-based non-profit organization. Motherhood then took her out of the full-time workforce, but she was able to spend more time volunteering in a couple of organizations that serve the Rundberg corridor in Northeast Austin since 2010. She was involved and led several school supplies, food, clothing, toys, and hygiene items collection and distribution events. She taught ESL/conversational English to school parents. In more recent years, Lucy also engaged in refugee settlement and assimilation. In May 2023, Lucy re-entered the workforce and spent a year as the Accountant and then Controller at HCCM. She is now the Controller at Hill Country Christian School where her two children attend. Lucy is married to Arthur Hsu, the Lead English Pastor at Austin Chinese Church.

Paulo Silva, hailing from Portuguese roots and originally born in Guinea-Bissau, Africa, embarked on a journey to fulfill the quintessential "American Dream" when his family relocated to Connecticut in the 1970s. Armed with a bachelor's degree in marketing from Johnson & Wales, Paulo's professional journey took a noteworthy turn when he joined the Connecticut Lottery.  He played a pivotal role in the committee that pioneered the introduction of the nation's inaugural scratch-off game, aptly named "Big Bucks." In the late 1990s, an encounter with his future wife prompted Paulo to make the bold move to Texas.  With over 30 years of extensive experience, Paulo has held influential senior leadership positions across diverse sectors, including corporate spin-offs, international mergers, and large account management. His expertise spans the realms of travel, telecom, gaming, telecommunications, and retail industries. Beyond his professional pursuits, Paulo finds joy in gardening and golf during his leisure time. His commitment to community impact is evident through his active involvement on the board of the Austin Call Center Alliance and Golfinity, showcasing a dedication to making a positive difference in the community he calls home.

Julie Brown, retired Director of Finance for Emerson Process Management. Worked in a financial capacity for over 45 years. Served on the Finance committee and Board for Riverbend Church for 10-plus years. Currently volunteer at HCCM Thrift store and Lighthouse Respite Program for caregivers of people with dementia - run from Riverbend Church.  My family, church, and community are my biggest source of pleasure. 

Originally from Sacramento, California, Dylan got to Texas as fast as he could. He has been married to his amazing wife for nearly 19 years, and together they have two wonderful daughters, ages 13 and 14. His youngest was born just three weeks after the family relocated to Texas.
Growing up in a low-income household, Dylan's family often relied on charitable organizations for food, shoes, and school supplies. This personal experience makes Hill Country Community Ministries a cause that resonates deeply with him. Supporting families and children in the community is close to his heart, and he’s excited for the opportunity to serve through this ministry.

Rocky Alexander is a retired business leader with a strong commitment to faith, ministry, and community service. He earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University and spent his career in the oil and gas and financial services industries before retiring in 2014.

For more than 40 years, Rocky has taught Bible studies, served in church leadership, and provided biblical counseling. He has also served in nonprofit leadership, including as a board member and officer for Tomball Emergency Assistance Ministries. Rocky and his wife Rene’ live in Georgetown and continue to serve their community through faith and volunteer work.

Jonathan Begley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the Three Oaks Counseling Group in Georgetown, Texas.  He has been serving families for nearly 20 years in various capacities and has referred many clients to HCCM.  Jonathan has attended Life Church in Leander, TX since 2014 and has served as an Elder for the past 4 years. 

Karen Clary has spent her life dedicated to education, faith, and service. After earning her degree from Ouachita Baptist University, she built a 26 year career as an educator and became actively involved in serving her church and community through leadership roles and volunteer opportunities.

Since retiring from teaching, Karen has continued her passion for helping others through her volunteer work with Hill Country Community Ministries. She and her husband, Chuck, have been married for 40 years and enjoy spending time with their family.

Eileen Edwards brings more than 30 years of leadership experience and a passion for serving others. Originally from Wisconsin, she has proudly called Texas home for more than three decades. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from LeTourneau University and has spent her career building teams and improving organizations.

Eileen currently serves as Member Experience Manager at TX Health Benefits Pool and enjoys giving back to the community she loves. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, exploring Texas, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Troy Farr is a long-time Leander resident who brings both a heart for service and a wealth of experience to our community. Troy has been married to his wife, Andrea, for 25 years, and together they’ve raised two daughters who are currently in college. A successful entrepreneur, Troy sold his business and is now semi-retired, though he remains active by helping others invest in precious metals. Deeply rooted in Leander, Troy is excited about the opportunity to give back and serve the community he’s proud to call home once again. His passion for people, strong family values, and business acumen make him a valuable asset to any initiative aimed at uplifting our neighbors.

Tom has spent 34 years educating students in Texas. He spent 29 of those years in the Leander Independent School District. He served as superintendent of LISD for over twenty of those years. He has served on several community boards since his retirement including Hill Country Community Ministries.

Grace Mayoral was raised in San Antonio, Texas. After receiving her Masters in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University, Grace has worked in various hospitals across the nation in administrative roles with a focus on strategy and operations. She moved to Central Texas in 2022 where she currently works at Cedar Park Regional Medical Center. Grace is passionate about providing access to quality healthcare in the community as well as helping others navigate the healthcare system.

In her free time, Grace loves to travel, read, and spend time with her family and friends.

Roger Nichols brings decades of experience in marketing, communications, and leadership. He is the author of PSYCHOmarketing and has served as CEO of MindSled Communications and Vice President of Communications at Merrill Lynch, where he led teams and developed strategic campaigns for organizations ranging from Fortune 100 companies to nonprofits.

A strong believer in giving back, Roger has volunteered with numerous organizations, including Hill Country Community Ministries, Rotary Club, Habitat for Humanity, and Camp Agape Texas. He is committed to helping strengthen communities and making a difference in the lives of others.

Russell was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Sam Houston State University in 1985. He spent 32 years with the Texas Department of Banking, serving in roles including Financial Examiner, Director of Special Audits, and Assistant Deputy Commissioner before retiring in 2021. His career focused on regulatory supervision, financial analysis, and examination.

After moving to Lago Vista in 2024, Russell and his wife Tanya became active volunteers with several nonprofit organizations. They currently volunteer weekly at the HCCM Thrift Store, and Russell also serves at the HCCM Food Pantry. They are members of Lakeside Christian Fellowship Church and have two sons.
