Talk about kicking off the school year in style! Hill Country Community Ministries' Stuff the Truck 2024 event has sprinted past its goals, collecting a whopping 1,030+ pairs of shoes for the upcoming Laces event. Local high schools laced up for some friendly competition, with Leander, Rouse, and Glenn High Schools stepping up to the challenge. In this race of generosity, Rouse High School dashed to the finish line as the top contributor. Thanks to this amazing community effort, HCCM will be able to provide brand-new athletic shoes to their clients and eligible Leander ISD students, absolutely free, just in time for the new school year.
This incredible shoe drive proves that when our community puts its best foot forward, great things happen! The outpouring of support means hundreds of kids will be walking tall into their classrooms, sporting fresh shoes that'll have them ready to jump into learning. The Laces event, set for July 27, will be a veritable shoe-topia, distributing these snazzy sneakers to excited students. It's not just about the shoes – it's about giving kids confidence, comfort, and a spring in their step as they embark on another year of growth and discovery!
