Is Cocktail Hour for everyone and what time does it begin?
Check-in begins at 5:30PM. Cocktail hour is from 5:30PM to 7PM
and this isn't a "normal" cocktail hour so don't miss it! There will be games, raffles, and even our very own “HCCM Café Du Monde” so you don’t want to miss that! It will ONLY be available during cocktail hour! You especially don’t want to miss the entrance of our Second Line Brass Band Parade so don’t be late!
What do we wear?
"Black Tie Optional, Cocktail/Formal/Chic Evening Wear--wear anything you want! We just encourage ALL THE MARDI GRAS BLING! feathers, sequins, masks, beads, etc. Just come ready to have a good time and help us raise a lot of $$ for HCCM!
(We will have coat racks at registration, but they will not be manned throughout the evening so please plan accordingly.)
What’s the bar situation?
There will be a cash bar and sodas/drinks will range from $4.50 and up depending on what you choose from the bar. We will have an option to purchase an all you can drink WINE and BEER ONLY bracelet for $50 that will last from 5:30PM-10:30PM. You’ll need to purchase those BEFORE you get in line at the bar! The welcome staff will point you in that direction once you’re checked in! Tea and water will both be available at no charge inside the ballroom area.
Why do I have to enter my credit card?
Everything you do for the evening will be tied to the paddle number assigned to you during the check-in process. Our site is secure and your card can be removed after the event by logging into your One Cause account once your final bill is paid. We have added the option to pay by apple pay or google pay at the end of the evening, if you’d rather use that option.

Please do this prior to event day! This will help expedite the check-in process and get everyone in quickly!
Where do I park/enter?
You can park in the front and come in the lobby entrance or in the back of the hotel and use the conference center entrance. We will have registration teams at both entrances to check you in!
Will there be assigned seating?
Yes, our registration team will let you know what table you are assigned to during the check-in process!
Where can I submit questions before the event?
[email protected] email will be responded to within 24 hours except for on event day. Please email your questions prior to the 1st!
If I arrive in a feathered cape and scepter, will I be given my own throne?
We can’t officially guarantee a throne, but you’ll definitely be treated like a king or queen!
Is it true that calories don’t count during Mardi Gras?
Absolutely! During Mardi Gras, all beignets, king cake, and gumbo are officially classified as festival fuel, which means they magically contain zero calories.
How much purple, green, and gold is too much? Asking for a very enthusiastic friend.
The official limit is… more than everyone else. If people aren’t shielding their eyes from the sparkle, you’re not there yet. Pile it on—when it comes to Mardi Gras, more is always more!
If I start speaking in a Cajun accent, do I have to commit to it all night?
100%! Once you “Laissez les bons temps rouler” (let the good times roll), there’s no turning back. Bonus points if you convince at least one person you’re actually from Louisiana!
How do I properly second line without looking like I just learned what second lining is?
The trick is confidence! Grab a napkin, handkerchief, or anything that waves in the air, move with the rhythm, and remember: the more enthusiasm, the better!
If you have any other questions about Mardi Gras, feel free to email us at [email protected].
Thanks and we will see you on March 1st!!
