Hill Country Community Ministries Distributes Over 930 New Athletic Shoes at 10th Annual Laces for Leander Event
Hill Country Community Ministries (HCCM) celebrated a decade of community support with its 10th Annual Laces event on Saturday, July 27. This event, which distributed over 930 new athletic shoes to children in need within the Leander Independent School District (ISD), exemplifies the power of community collaboration.
Laces for Leander aims to boost confidence and comfort for students as they begin the school year and support families who may struggle to afford new footwear for their children, ensuring that every child starts the school year with confidence and comfort. The event is a community effort, drawing together local organizations, volunteers, and donors who share a commitment to helping children succeed. The event's success stems from the combined efforts of Leander ISD, Hill Country Bible Church, Leander ISD PTA Clothes Closet, and the Leander ISD Educational Excellence Foundation. These groups also participated in the Back Pack Attack, providing backpacks and clothes alongside the shoes.
A big THANK YOU to all our donors and volunteers. The overwhelming support and generosity brought joy to many children, making the 10th Annual Laces event a memorable and impactful day for all involved. By distributing new athletic shoes, HCCM not only meets a basic need but also promotes physical activity and well-being among the youth. The joy and excitement on the children's faces as they select their new shoes is a testament to the positive impact this event has on the community.
