For years, I have wanted to create fundraising events that are FUN and different from what most people do. This past Saturday night was Hill Country Community Ministries' 5th gala…. The HCCM Mardi Gras Bash…. And I am 100% sure we did this. We did something different. It was FUN, and it was MAGICAL!!! It FELT GOOD to be there.
Did you know that Austin has the MOST non-profits, per capita, in the nation????? Wait… What??? The MOST non-profits are in this one geographical area in the nation. What does this mean? We all compete for donors, dollars, and doers… aka… volunteers.
As a non-profit, it is difficult to create memorable events where people want to give, support, and return to year after year. This past year, between our community-wide Sunshine Award event, our 40th Birthday Celebration, and now, our Mardi Gras Bash…. I think we have done this. And I could not be more proud!!!
Now, of course, everyone wants to know…. How much did we raise? We do not know the total figures yet. We had 280+ people registered. This is the most we have seen at any one of our events. Unfortunately, it is too soon to tell. However, I will update everyone as soon as I am able. It is pretty exciting, though, right???
