About a month ago HCCM’s Meet the Challenge letter went out to all the local businesses in Leander and Cedar Park. The goal…. To get you and your team involved!!! Wondering how you can help? First, being AWARE… being aware of the NEED is key! Second, what can you do? You can volunteer just a little bit of your time each week at our food pantry or thrift store. Do a food drive in your office…. adding an element of challenge and excitement to the effort…make it FUN! And, yes, we were asking for monetary donations. Our food pantry has experienced tremendous growth… 20% INCREASE in overall growth YTD. This means, HCCM will provide food to OVER 100,000 people this year. Demand is HIGH…. Supply is LOW, LOW, LOW!!! And the escalating costs of food compound the issue. We’ve had to increase our food budget by 55% this year, due to the decrease in food donations and the limited supply of food. Most food pantries are having to cut the amount of food they are giving to families by half. We do not want to do this!!! Meet the Challenge by becoming an HCCM Business Partner.
