7 & 1/2 years ago there were just 3 & 1/2 of us. 3 full-time and 1 part-time employees. As HCCM continues to grow to meet the drastic INCREASE in families served and the 18+ programs HCCM offers today, HCCM has a small and mighty staff of 13.
Every person we add to the TEAM is a new position. And as we continue to grow, grow our team, I am SUPER GRATEFUL that those with us, grow with us, are “movin’ on up.”
As of July 1st, THREE of our AMAZING staff will be moving into new roles.
Kandy Chimento, who has been with HCCM for over 13 years and was Director of Operations over the food pantry, will be the Director of Program Services. She will continue to oversee the food pantry, training volunteers, etc. She will oversee all our programs. Though, her main focus will be overseeing client services, case management, and spending the next year or so tracking what our clients need most to transition out of needing us. We are excited about this new opportunity as it is so important for us to work on breaking the grip of hardship, hunger, and hopelessness.
Gene Krider, who has been with HCCM for over 3 years and was our Director of Community Engagement, will be the Director of Operations. Gene has 25+ years in corporate operations. He will oversee both the food pantry and the thrift store, putting policies, procedures, and systems in place. He will work diligently with staff and volunteers on best practices of how we can run both operations more effectively and efficiently. Please know, for those who know Gene out in the community, he will still be out there, shaking hands, so you will not miss his bubbly personality.
Aaron Renaud, who has been with HCCM for over 2 years overseeing our Fresh Food For All program will become our Food Distribution Manager. Not only will Aaron continue to oversee FFFA he will oversee food inventory and distribution for the food pantry as well as the community cupboard.
So, if any one of these three AMAZING people starts asking you a lot of questions… it’s only because they want to know how you do what you do, and why you do it that way, while evaluating and thinking of better strategies for us to do better with such limited infrastructure.
In the upcoming newsletters, you’ll be hearing from Kandy, Gene and Aaron as they tell you a little bit about themselves and what they are most excited about in their new role.
PLEASE CONGRATULATE Kandy, Gene and Aaron when you see them… and THANK THEM for their AMAZING work. We are EXCITED!!
