At the HCCM Thrift Store, we love seeing the generosity of our community. Every donation reflects a desire to help others, and we are truly grateful for the continued support that makes our work possible.
We do our best to accept a wide variety of items so we can serve as many people as possible. At the same time, there are a few items we are unable to accept. One of the most common questions we receive is about baby equipment, including cribs, car seats, high chairs, and similar items.
We know these donations come from a place of care and good intention. The reason we cannot accept them is simply safety. Baby items are frequently recalled, and it can be difficult to confirm whether a specific item is still safe for use. In addition, many of these products have expiration dates, which are not always easy to find or verify.
Rather than risk passing along something that could be unsafe, we have chosen not to accept these items. This helps us ensure that everything we offer supports the well being of the families we serve.
We remain deeply thankful for every donation we receive and for the kindness of our community. Your support allows us to continue helping those in need, and we are grateful to be part of such a caring community.
