If you want to be in the know about what’s going on at our organization, you’ve come to the right place.

Early Bird Gets the Truck

Every month, HCCM receives tens of thousands of pounds of produce, along with dry goods, canned goods, and meat. But where does that come from? Well, most of it arrives in our parking lot before 7am every Monday and Wednesday. But it doesn’t just wander its way into our coolers on its own. Someone must carry it and help organize it, and let me tell you, it takes multiple people to achieve this task every week.

Since I began my role here at HCCM, I have seen many trucks roll through and get unloaded. But what has been the most consistent is the helping hands that do it. Every Monday and Wednesday, multiple volunteers show up to help make my life a whole lot easier. This group of individuals is one of the most selfless and underappreciated groups of volunteers we have working in our organization. Ask yourself, does it sound fun to wake up at 6am, drive to our main location, and lift endless fifty-pound bags of potatoes, carrots, onions, etc.? To probably 90% of you, that is not how you want to start your day. But this group does it every time and is gone before anyone notices.

So, due to my endless appreciation for them, I would like to shout out a few organizations and individuals…

First Monday of the month: F3 contact, Jerry Darling and Victory Baptist, contact Adam Ferguson

Second Monday of the month: The H.O.G.S of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, contact Paul Biesemeier

Third Monday of the month: Life Church Leander, contact Mike Lamb, Tim Schlung, and Derek Sherman

Fourth Monday of the month: New Hope Baptist Church, contact Terry McMahan

Wednesday Crew: Brent Davis and Alyssa Hill

Without these groups, I would be in big trouble every week and would have spent countless hours and energy trying to keep this place stocked. Thank you to every single one of you for your sacrifice to keep this engine running smoothly. You are a valuable part of the HCCM family!
