Happy New Year!!!! And what a year it has been…..
Because of YOU, Hill Country Community Ministries accomplishments for 2024:
· Provided food to OVER 35,000 families. That was 138,823 individuals… WOW… that is A LOT of people
· Distributed OVER 1.09 MILLION pounds of food… Of which 201,379 lbs. were through our Fresh Food for All program. FRESH produce y’all, healthy options. YAY!
· HCCM’s Community Cupboard served OVER 27,500 families
o On average, 120-130 families visited the community board EVERY DAY (M-F)
· 1,036 families received FREE clothing through our HCCM Thrift Store as well as:
o 1,043 brand NEW shoes to students in our school districts
o 189 FREE coats
o 71 FREE blankets
o $20,094 is the amount of “thrift store pricing” that went directly back into the community at ZERO charge to families in need
· 113 home bound families (with zero/limited transportation) had their food delivered
· 29+ programs that HCCM offers and works on with collaborative partnerships.
ALL of this was accomplished because of our AMAZING volunteers and small but mighty staff. HCCM still strives to be “good stewards of the resources entrusted to us.”
HCCM continues to work on its Capital Campaign, to raise over $8 million dollars for a future facility that is so desperately needed.
Personally, I have been with HCCM for over 9 years. I still absolutely LOVE what I do. I’ve been getting back into the meat of the mission while working diligently to carry the message of our “WHY?” Why do need a new facility? Why do we serve sooooo many families and individuals? HCCM continues to work towards “Breaking the Grip of hardship, hunger and hopelessness.”
