On October 7, 2026, Hill Country Community Ministries (HCCM) had the opportunity to participate in Austin Community College's Riverbat Bash! This fun-filled event brought students, community organizations, and campus resources together for a day of connection, activities, and opportunities.
HCCM hosted an outreach table where students could stop by, ask questions, and learn about the different services and resources we offer. We shared information about our food assistance programs, community resources, and how HCCM helps individuals and families facing financial challenges.
It was especially rewarding to connect with students, share what HCCM does, and help spread awareness about the support available right here in our community. College students often juggle classes, jobs, family responsibilities, and financial challenges, so knowing where to turn for assistance can make a real difference.
Another highlight was meeting representatives from other local organizations and learning about the programs and services they provide. These connections help us continue expanding our knowledge of resources we can share with the individuals and families we serve.
The event was filled with great energy, friendly faces, and meaningful conversations. It was a great reminder of how important it is to get out into the community, build relationships, and let people know they're not alone when they need a helping hand.
A big thank-you to Austin Community College for hosting such a fantastic event and giving HCCM the opportunity to connect with students and our community!
At HCCM, we're always excited to build new relationships, share resources, and continue working toward a stronger, more connected community.
