Did you know October is the best time for Thanksgiving food donations?
Our Thanksgiving meal kits go out early — well before Thanksgiving week — so families have plenty of time to plan their holiday meals?
Early donations give us time to sort everything, identify shortages, purchase what is needed, and build complete Thanksgiving meal kits for local families. Whatever we're still short on, we're happy to purchase, but early donations really help us get a head start on putting kits together. By the time Thanksgiving week rolls around, most of our kits are already out in the community, doing good.
Donations received later are still appreciated and will support our regular food pantry distribution. But if your goal is to help provide Thanksgiving meals, earlier is better.
If you are planning a food drive for the holidays, please contact our Food Programs Manager, Corbin Sherman at (512) 259-0360 Ext. 206 or send him an email at [email protected] with any questions.
We are incredibly grateful for the churches, schools, businesses, and community groups that come together each year to support our neighbors. Thank you for giving your time, collecting food, and helping make Thanksgiving a little brighter for local families.
