When clients come into the welcome center, the first place they stop is the intake desk. Every visit starts with a smile, a greeting, and the comfort of knowing someone is ready to listen. The welcome center sets the tone for the entire experience. It’s where neighbors in need first realize they are not alone.
Every day in the Welcome Center looks a little different. Some clients are walking in for the very first time and need guidance, while others are familiar faces we’ve come to know well. It’s the place where stories are shared, questions are answered, and clients are directed to the programs and resources that best fits their needs.
The Welcome Center is also about compassion, not just process. It’s where nerves are eased, where a kind word makes a difference, and where we make sure no one leaves empty-handed. Beyond food or paperwork, it’s about making every client feel seen, heard, and valued.
