No One Leaves Empty-Handed at Hill Country Community Ministries

We often hear, “What if I don’t qualify?” or “What if I don’t live in the area?” Our response is always with compassion: you matter to us, and we will not turn you away.  An emergency box with shelf-stable food is always available so no one has to leave empty-handed.

At Hill Country Community Ministries, our heart is to make sure every person who walks through our doors feels cared for. Even if someone doesn’t qualify for a full food order, we never let them leave without something in their hands and hopefully, a little more hope in their heart.

Our serving area extends to the following zip codes: 78613, 78641, 78642, 78645, 78717, 78726, 78729, 78732, 78750, and 78759.  We also offer our Community Cupboard, open to anyone once a day. Fresh vegetables, ready-to-go items, bread, and pastries are there for neighbors who need a little extra support. It’s one small way we can ease someone’s burden, even just for today.

This is deeply important to us because we know that when someone reaches out for help, it often comes from a place of struggle. Meeting that moment with kindness instead of barriers shows people they are not alone. Thanks to the help of volunteers, donors, and community partners, we can offer not just food, but also care, dignity, and compassion.

A client recently shared this review:  “I went today. I didnt know what to expect. It was a blessing. I am so grateful. Once we get back on our feet I will be donating. Thank you for the food and kindness.”
