7 & 1/2 years ago rumor had it that Hill Country Community Ministries was about to shut its doors. This is SHOCKING to hear considering HCCM celebrates its 40th Birthday this year!! Sadly, there was some truth to this. However, over the past few years, HCCM has experienced tremendous growth. Not just in families served, food distributed, and increased programs offered, HCCM also continues to receive the BLESSINGS of our generous community through time, talent, and treasurers to keep up with the tremendous INCREASED need for food.
Just over a year ago, I was approached by a foundation that has supported HCCM since 2014. They are sunsetting in the next couple of years and I was asked if we would create an endowment. And they wanted to help. The purpose of the endowment would create a LEGACY beyond us! We never want Hill Country Community Ministries to be put in the position it was in 7 & 1/2 years ago. With that, the foundation is providing a $1 MILLION DOLLAR MATCH!! YES… you read that right… ONE MILLION DOLLAR MATCH. HCCM has 2 years to raise ONE MILLION DOLLARS and we will receive ONE MILLION DOLLARS. How EXCITING is this??!!
