Meet Amy Obenhaus

My name is Amy Obenhaus. I am the new Volunteer and Donor Developer at Hill Country Community Ministries. I am beyond blessed and so excited to be a part of this amazing team. I was born in Hays, Kansas and moved to Hawaii when I was three due to my dad being stationed in Oahu. From there we lived in Tampa Florida for four years. We moved to Texas to be closer to my grandparents in 1977 where I have lived ever since. I am the mother of two, daughter Amber (29), a new son-in-law Lorenzo and son Jacob (26). We have three dogs Addie, Bindi, and Marley. My loving husband Greg passed away in 2020. He is our warrior and angel.

I attended Texas Tech University in 1988, after graduating from Johnston High School. I grew up in south Austin, where I often worked for the family business “Austin’s World of Rentals”. Here I gained my love of party and event planning. I have most recently been with H-E-B for the last 20 years as a Central Checkout Service Manager. I was also the event coordinator for the store, including in-store and community events.

My family and I love to travel, camp, and go on Texas Road Trips. I have a 95-year-old Nana who lives in Round Rock, who I love and adore spending time with. I have a passion for the Leander Community and love to be involved as much as I can.
